1. Mix flour, cocoa, soda, spices & salt.
2. Set aside.
3. Beat margarine & sugar until
fluffy.
4. Beat in molasses.
5. On low speed add flour mixture beating until just blended.
6. Divide
dough in half.
7. Pat each half into a flattened 1-inch thick round.
8. Wrap and chill 1 hour, or until
dough is firm.
9. Preheat oven to 375F.
10. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
11. Form tablespoons full of dough into
1" balls, roll in sugar if desired.
12. Place 1" apart on cookie sheet.
13. Bake for 10 minutes or until
evenly browned.
14. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet.
15. Remove to rack to complete cooling.
Dough can be frozen up to 3 months.
Yields: 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
