Pour oil into a deep pot (I use the Dutch Oven) and heat over medium/low heat (too hot or the onions will scorch &
be bitter).
Saute onions first, until they begin to turn translucent.
Add sliced cabbage, toss with onions & oil, cover snuggly.
Turn down heat & let the mess steam for 10 minutes or until cabbage has softened to tender crisp. I stir mine up
with tongs 1/2 way through so it cooks evenly.
