The Ladybugs' Recipes

Creole Shrimp

Ingredients:
1/2 c
1/2 c
1 clove
3 T
1 can
1 can
1 1/2 tsp
1 tsp
1/2 - 1 tsp

12 oz
1/2 c
chopped celery
chopped onion
garlic, minced (I use 3 or 4 cloves when I make it!)
vegetable oil
(16oz) diced tomatoes
(8oz)seasoned tomato sauce
salt
sugar
chili powder
Worchestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce (I use more than a dash in mine!)
cornstarch
cleaned shrimp
chopped green bell pepper
Procedure:
  1. Cook celery, onion, and garlic in hot oil until tender but not brown.
  2. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasonings.
  3. Simmer uncovered for 45 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water; stir into sauce.
  5. Cook and stir until mixture thickens.
  6. Add shrimp and green pepper.
  7. Cover.
  8. Simmer until done, about 5 minutes.
  9. Serve over rice.
This is my Dad's recipe. Simple, but delicious....
