Oatmeal Gingersnaps

Ingredients:
1 1/2 c
1 c
3/4 c
1 tsp
1 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/4 tsp
1/2 c
1/4 c
1
 
flour
sugar
quick cooking rolled oats
baking powder
ground ginger
ground cloves
salt
shortening
molasses
egg
sugar
Procedure:
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
  2. Stir together the first 7 ingredients.
  3. Blend in shortening, molasses and egg.
  4. Beat well with electric mixture for 2 minutes.
  5. Form into 1" balls.
  6. Roll in sugar.
  7. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  9. Let stand 1 minute.
  10. Cool on rack.

Yields 3 dozen.
