Coffeebean Cookies

Ingredients:

butter, softened
shortening
granulated sugar
firmly packed brown sugar
large eggs
vanilla extract
all-purpose flour
baking soda
salt
ground cinnamon
chopped almonds, toasted
(2-oz) chocolate-covered coffee beans (1 cup) *
(1.4-oz) English toffee candy bars, chopped (about 1 cup)
Procedure:
  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy.
  3. Gradually add sugars, beating well.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
  5. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture, beating well.
  6. Stir in chopped almonds, chocolate-covered coffee beans, and chopped English toffee bars.
  7. Cover and chill dough, if desired.
  8. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10 to 11 minutes or until golden.
  10. Cool 1 minute on baking sheets.
  11. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Yield: 4 dozen.
