The Ladybugs' Recipes

Baked Cabbage and Rice

Ingredients:

Cabbage & Rice:
1 head
1 pt
1 stick
1 tsp
1/2 c
cabbage, chopped
water
butter
salt
Minute rice
Cheese Sauce:
2 T
2 T
1 c
1/2 lb
butter
flour
milk
Velveeta

Procedure:

Cabbage & rice:

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Put all ingredients except rice in a large pot.
  3. Cook until cabbage is tender.
  4. Add Minute rice.
  5. Pour cabbage and rice into a large, flat dish.
  6. Cover with cheese sauce. (below)
  7. Bake for 40 minutes.
Cheese Sauce:
  1. Blend together butter and flour.
  2. Cook, stirring until bubbly.
  3. Add milk.
  4. Cook until thick.
  5. Stir in Velveeta.
