Pumpkin Scones

Ingredients:
2 oz
1/2 c

butter (ours is salted, but I use margarine anyway)
sugar
egg
cold mashed pumpkin
self raising flour or plain flour and baking powder
That ’s the basic ingredients, I add:
cinnamon
vanilla essence
sultanas (raisins)
chopped walnuts
Procedure:
  1. Pre-heat oven to 200ºC (400ºF)
  2. Cream butter and sugar, add egg.
  3. I add cinnamon and vanilla here.
  4. Add pumpkin
  5. Add flour, sultana and walnuts and mix well.
  6. I put baking paper on the tray, original says to grease the tray (cookie sheet).
  7. Drop batter in large spoonful heaps onto tray.
  8. I put a pinch of brown sugar on the top of each one.
  9. Bake for about 10 minutes (last lot took nearly 15 minutes!).
  10. When they have cooled a little, gently pull them apart.
