Grandmama's Sugared Pecans
From:  Serendiptity
Ingredients:
1 c
1/2 c
1/4 tsp
2 c
sugar
water
salt
pecans
Procedure:

1.  Sprinkle salt over the pecans and set them aside.
2.  Boil the sugar and water together without stirring until the mixture spins a thread (230-234ºF).
3.  Dump the pecans into the mixture and stir briskly in cool air (Here, where humidity can be a problem, I make this on a very cool, dry day, and run outside to stir for the best results!).
4.  Work quickly, and pour onto a piece of waxed paper, or any cool surface.
5.  It hardens quickly, and then can be broken apart to store in an airtight container.

Invariably, just as my mixture reaches 232º, the phone rings...DO NOT stop to answer the phone, or all is lost!   LOL
