1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2. Cream butter & sugar together.
3. Beat in egg & vanilla.
4. Combine flour, baking powder & salt and add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
5. Divide dough into
4 portions and shape each into a 10" x 2 1/2" log.
6. Place 4" apart on greased or foil-lined baking sheets.

Make a 1/2" depression down the center of each log and bake for about 10 minutes.
8. Fill the depressions with jam
and return to oven for 10-15 minutes longer or until lightly browned.
9. Cool for about 2 minutes.

Remove to cutting board and slice into 3/4" slices.
11. Place on wire racks .
12. Combine glaze ingredients
until smooth & drizzle over warm cookies.
13. Cool completely.
Makes about 5 dozen.
