1. Combine ingredients for dough.
2. Divide into quarters, wrapping each in plastic wrap.
3.
Refrigerate over night.
This is a very soft dough and will not work well warm!
4. Preheat oven to 365ºF.
5.
Mix together ingredients for filling.
6. Add just enough milk so that you can gather the rest of the ingredients
into clumps that don’t fall apart easily.
7. Remove dough from refrigerator one bunch at a time. If you take
a long time over making these you may need to return the dough to the refrigerator between batches!!
8. Roll dough
out on lightly floured surface.
9. Cut into 3 1/2" squares.
10. Gather approximately 1 tablespoon of the
filling and, using your hands, mold it into an egg-shaped roll.
11. Place this filling ball into the center of a
dough square at a diagonal.
12. Turn up opposite points of the square, overlapping them over the filling.
You
want just a bit of the filling showing on either side of the triangle fold.
13. Press lightly to seal.
14.
Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
15. Bake about until lightly browned. (at least 12 mintues, if I remember
correctly!)
16. Remove from cookie sheet to waxed paper covered surface.
17. When cooled, dust with confectioners
sugar.
This is a favorite from my teen years. My kids both love them!!
