White Chocolate-Cherry Almond Fudge

Ingredients:
1 1/2 c
2/3 c
1/4 c
1 1/2 c
1 tsp
1/2 c
1/2 c
sugar
whole milk
(1/2 stick) butter or margarine (not spread)
white chocolate chips
vanilla extract
sliced almonds (toasted)
dried cherries (or cranberries
Procedure:

1.  Line 8" x 8" pan with foil.
2.  Grease foil.
3.  Mix sugar & milk in heavy 3qt saucepan.
4.  Add butter and bring to boil over med. heat, stirring constantly.
5.  Continue boiling vigorously without stirring for 5 min.
6.  Remove from heat.
7.  Add chips and vanilla.
8.  Stir then whisk until smooth.
9.  Stir in almonds and cherries.
10.  Spread in prepared pan.
11.  Refrigerate 6 hours, until firm.
12.  Invert pan, peel off foil.
13.  Invert fudge and cut into 1" squares
