The Ladybugs' Recipes

Chocolate Mousse Cake

Ingredients:
2 8-oz pkg
2 c
1 c
1 c
1 T
1/4 tsp
8 large
semisweet chocolate
unsalted butter
sugar
half and half
vanilla
salt
eggs
Glaze:
1 6-oz pkg
1/2 c
1 T
2 T
semi-sweet chocolate morsels
unsalted butter
milk
light corn syrup
Procedure:

1.  Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2.  Melt together the chocolate and unsalted butter.
3.  Combine sugar, half and half, vanilla, and salt.
4.  Add to the chocolate/butter mixture.
5.  Lightly beat the eggs.
6.  Stir in 1/2 cup of the chocolate mixture whisking quickly.
7.  Then gradually stir in the rest and mix well.
8.  Pour into a greased 10 inch springform pan.
9.  Bake for 50-60 minutes.
10.  Cool completely.
11.  Refrigerate for 6 hours, covered.

Glaze:
  1a.  Melt the chocolate morsels in unsalted butter.
  2a.  Remove from heat.
  3a.  Stir in milk and light corn syrup.
12.  Spread this warm glaze over the chilled cake.

Serve small slices with whipped cream.

This is indeed rich, but too rich??? LOL Try if for yourselves and tell me what you think. It really is a fun recipe, easy, always works. Because it's so rich, though, seriously, it serves a lot of people, thin slices remember? These recipes are my valentines to you Bugs, Sweets for the Sweets!
